The Gravatar, a slick name for Globally Recognized Avatar, has become a web standard. It’s simply an image you choose and upload that represents you on thousands of websites and blogs all over the internet.

If you clicked this, you probably wondered what that stupid little default picture was, and you don’t have a Gravatar. They’re easy to get.

Signing up for a gravatar.com account is FREE, and all that’s required is your email address. Once you’ve signed up you can upload your avatar image and soon after you’ll start seeing it on gravatar enabled weblogs!

It doesn’t have to be a picture of yourself. It doesn’t have to be a picture. It can simply be an image, a cartoon, or whatever you choose to have next to your name when you post a comment on sites such as Illogical Mind.
